- Demonstrate basic proficiency in listening comprehension and speaking in Spanish during a Clinical Encounter at the Novice Mid proficiency level according to American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) standards

Program Description
The Spanish for the Clinical Encounter micro-credential is a non-degree seeking program is designed to give healthcare professionals the ability to comprehend and speak in Spanish at a proficient level within a medical setting. Students will learn how to speak Spanish for basic greetings and introductions, as well as, understanding Spanish when listening to patient symptoms and medical histories. This micro-credential aims to teach medical students and professionals to speak Spanish directly with patients, without the need for a translator or interpreter. These courses are currently taught in the summer semesters only. Current UNA students are not eligible to apply.
