2025-2026 SGA President
Alex Rhoades

Welcome to the 国产AV Student Government Association!

The Student Government Association (SGA) is a student-led organization dedicated to serving, advocating, and leading on behalf of the student body. As an organization run by the students, for the students, SGA exists to uplift your voice, provide meaningful opportunities for leadership, and help shape a better campus experience. I am incredibly honored to serve as your SGA President for the 2025–2026 academic year.

Our motto is leadership, advocacy, and service, and these principles guide everything we do. SGA is made up of four branches: Executive, Legislative, Judicial, and the Freshman Forum. Each branch plays a vital role in ensuring that student needs are heard and addressed: The Executive Branch leads the organization and is composed of elected officers and appointed council members. The Legislative Branch is made up of student-elected senators who pass legislation and represent the entire student body. The Judicial Branch interprets and upholds the SGA Constitution and Code of Laws through the Student Court. Lastly, Freshman Forum offers first-year students leadership development and service opportunities right from the start. Together, these branches work to achieve three major goals: Representing student voices to the university administration and advocating for your needs. Allocating more than $100,000 annually in funds to Recognized Student Organizations (RSOs) to support your passions. Facilitating major campus events like Homecoming elections, referendums, and other student-centered initiatives.

If you're interested in getting involved with SGA, I strongly encourage you to attend our Senate meetings or join a committee as a non-voting member. Senate meetings are held every Thursday at 3:30 p.m. in the SGA Chambers on the first floor of the Guillot University Center in 163B. During our meetings, there is a designated “Student Forum” section where anyone can bring forward questions, concerns, or ideas.

Whether you’re a returning student or new to UNA, I challenge you to make the most of your time here by getting involved and making your voice heard. SGA is here to support you, advocate for you, and celebrate your success. If our meeting times conflict with your schedule, if you have any questions, or if you have any ideas to improve campus life, don’t hesitate to reach out at arhoades@una.edu or sgapresident@una.edu.

I’m excited for what this year holds and honored to serve alongside such an incredible group of student leaders. Together, let’s make UNA better than ever.

Good luck this upcoming year!!

Alexandra (Alex) Rhoades SGA President
