For drop-in tutoring and extended hours - find a tutor in the Drop-in Study Center

Individual tutoring sessions with Mathematics Tutors are held in the MLC (CPTMTH 376).  Appointments are required for one-on-one tutoring sessions and can be made here. The MLC hours of operation vary per semester. Currently for the Spring 2025 semester, the appointment hours are:

Mondays from 12:00pm-4:00pm
Tuesdays from 11:00am-4:00pm
Wednesdays from 12:00pm-4:00pm
Thursday from11:00am-4:00pm
Fridays from 12:30pm-4:00pm

Appointments must be made at least one day in advance so that you will be guaranteed time to meet with someone who is prepared and qualified to help with your particular math course.

When should I come in?

For face-to-face appointments, you should walk into the common area (first floor in the new Computing and Mathematics Building) a few minutes before your scheduled appointment time. Your Mathematics Tutor will meet you at the collaboration room for your appointment. Check out who your tutor is here.

Mathematics is a skill like any other and must be practiced; therefore we recommend that you do NOT wait until the last minute to schedule an appointment. Take advantage of this free service that can be an invaluable part of your UNA experience.

What do I need to bring with me when I come?

You should come prepared with the same items you need for your mathematics class: pencil, paper, notes from class, textbook (or MML login information), and calculator.

Do I need to have an appointment?

No! You can come in without an appointment, BUT to guarantee time with a tutor for your particular math course you do should make an appointment. Otherwise, tutors may already be working with other students. You can schedule a 30-minute appointment in the MLC here. If you need more than half an hour with a tutor, you can schedule more than one appointment, or consider spending time in the drop in tutoring area where there are more people that might be able to help!

How much does it cost?

All Mathematics Learning Center services are **free** to currently enrolled students of UNA. But - to make sure we can maintain this service for you on campus, whether you came for an appointment or just dropped in to work near the tutors make sure you:

Who should I ask for when I go to the Mathematics Learning Center?
