Music Scholarships and Performance Awards
Music Scholarships
Music Scholarships vary in amount based on the strength of the audition and are awarded by the Department of Music to students who are enrolled or anticipate enrollment as a major in one of UNA's music degree programs:
- Professional degree programs in music education
- Choral Music P-12
- Instrumental Music P-12
- Professional degree programs in music performance
- Instrumental
- Piano
- Vocal
- Liberal arts degree programs in general music
- Vocal/Choral
- Instrumental
Current or incoming students wishing to be considered for a music scholarship must
- submit an audition application
- audition before a faculty panel
- meet all qualifications for scholarships as described in the Music Scholarship Guidelines
Current students who are receiving a music scholarship and wish to have that scholarship continued for the upcoming academic year must submit a Music Scholarship Continuation Application to the department office during the spring semester, no later than May 1, for consideration of renewal for the upcoming academic year.
Band Performance Awards
The Band Performance Awards range from $400 to $4,000 per semester and are awarded without regard to academic major. Recipients must be enrolled in specified band ensembles as full-time students to qualify.
Choral Performance Awards
The Choral Performance Awards range from $500 to $1,000 per semester and are awarded without regard to academic major. Recipients must be enrolled in specified choral ensembles as full-time students to qualify. For more information about Choral Ensembles, click here.
Orchestra Performance Awards
The Orchestra Performance Awards range from $250 to $2,500 per semester and are awarded without regard to academic major. Recipients must be enrolled in specified orchestral ensembles as full-time students to qualify.
Opera/Musical Theatre Performance Awards
The Opera/Musical Theatre Performance Awards range from $250 to $1,000 per semester and are awarded without regard to academic major. Recipients must be enrolled in Opera/Musical Theatre as full-time students to qualify.
