UNA 3MT - Three Minute Thesis
The UNA Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) competition celebrates the outstanding research conducted by UNA students in all academic disciplines. 3MT was developed by and cultivates students’ academic, presentation, and research communication skills. UNA is a . Student researchers compete to effectively explain their research in at most three minutes, using language appropriate to a non-specialist audience. Competitors are allowed one static slide, but no other resources or props are permitted. Winners from the College competitions advance to the University competition and both the College 3MT and University 3MT competition winners will be awarded monetary prizes (1st, 2nd, 3rd, and People's Choice).

Admission to the 3MT competition is free and the public is welcome. K-12 teachers are invited to attend with their students as part of a field trip day to UNA. Campus tours of research facilities and other educational activities are available to combine with 3MT attendance.

Rather the contest is designed to promote academic research and the skills to communicate research to a general audience.
