The Department of Chemistry and Physics provides students with hands-on experience using labs and instruments that are ubiquitous in research and industrial labs across the nation. Due to our class sizes, students get quality time on each of these instruments. We also provide a computer lab with high-end software reserved for use by our majors only.
The faculty of the Department of Chemistry and Physics includes nine full-time professors with terminal degrees in their respective fields.
UNA also maintains a planetarium and observatory which provide research opportunites for our students.
