Careers in Psychology

The general public, as well as current majors, are often unaware of potential career paths for individuals with an undergraduate psychology degree. Approximately 25% of undergraduate psychology majors go to graduate school. So what does everyone else do? Psychology majors are especially well-suited for employment in fields that emphasize:

  • Analytical Skills
  • Communication Skills
  • Information Gathering and Synthesis
  • Interpersonal Skills
  • Problem-solving Skills
  • Research Methods and Statistical Skills

Our goal is to help students link their undergraduate coursework in psychology to a variety of workplace objectives and skills. Psychology majors are very marketable beyond the boundaries of the field. Potential employment areas include:

  • Advertising
  • Business
  • Community Programs
  • Correctional Facilities
  • Education
  • Human Service Agencies
  • Public Relations
  • Research Organizations
  • Student Affairs
